Description

Just steps from Antwerp Central Station, Dageraadplaats, the main access roads, Delhaize, Aldi and a host of local shops. It doesn’t get much more central than this!

Located on the 10th floor, this apartment was renovated in 2022 in collaboration with Atelier Welleman. The carefully considered interior combines colour, comfort, high-quality materials, bespoke design and a smart lighting plan with dimmable LED lighting. Throughout the apartment, continuous oiled parquet flooring creates warmth and a sense of unity.

The entrance hall features a cloakroom, laundry room and a fire-engine-red steel door with wired glass leading into the inviting living space. The Yves Klein blue hi-fi cabinet on wheels creates an original divide between the lounge and dining area. Heating is subtly integrated into the bespoke element in stained Polish pine, which also doubles as a bench – the perfect spot for an aperitif overlooking the city. The same beautiful bespoke woodwork continues into the open kitchen, fitted with a cold-rolled stainless-steel worktop, integrated double sink, air conditioning and energy-efficient quality appliances by Bora, Bosch and AEG.

The generous bedroom features a surprising curved wall, high ceilings and space for a desk. Floor-to-ceiling bespoke wardrobes provide ample storage, while the real showstopper is the custom-made podium bed with a view. From here, you can step out onto the terrace, enjoying the morning sun and an impressive panorama stretching across the MAS, Central Station and Rivierenhof.

A virtually invisible floor-to-ceiling sliding door leads to the funky bathroom, finished entirely in seamless white polyester. It features a bathtub for two, walk-in shower, double washbasin and bespoke vanity unit with Corian worktop. There is also a separate toilet with hand basin, once again finished in low-maintenance polyester.

A convenient private cellar storage room is included. There is also a bicycle storage area at the rear of the building.

The owner,

owner speaks out

Here, you live high above the city, and it feels as if you’re perched in an eagle’s nest: peaceful, with far-reaching views and a world away from the hustle and bustle. My ideal weekend day? Waking up slowly in the podium bed with a view, with my cats by my side. Then breakfast with a fresh fruit salad on the terrace, followed by a bike ride through the city or out into the surrounding greenery. Back home for some shopping in the neighbourhood: a piece of salmon from the fishmonger, fresh asparagus from the local greengrocer. Then I love having friends over, enjoying an aperitif on the windowsill while I’m cooking in the open kitchen, with the occasional sound of a carillon concert from Borgerhout’s district hall in the background. We finish with an evening stroll and one last drink on Dageraadplaats. Our apartment building is elegant, well maintained and home to a lovely mix of residents: true Borgerhout locals, dynamic and always up for a convivial neighbourhood initiative. The communal garden regularly hosts friendly neighbours’ gatherings and a New Year’s drink. There is a warm and easy-going relationship between the residents. I have absolutely loved living here. With a great deal of love and creativity, I turned this place into the project of my dreams. Now, I’m passing on this unique home, with its distinctive design, high-quality materials and every comfort thoughtfully considered down to the smallest detail, brought to life with the help of true craftspeople. I hope the next owner will feel just as at home here as I have.
